Now 76, Bruce Quist has spent a lifetime balancing two worlds: the industrial and the organic. Raised on the South Side of Chicago amid concrete, smoke and railways he learned early to find the trace of nature wherever it hid - between bricks, in alleyway shadows, in the unexpected push of a weed through broken asphalt. Nature was never separate; it was simply waiting to be noticed. After a long career in commercial photography, marked by precise lighting and careful compositions, working in both the industrial and interior design markets- Bruce has returned to what originally drew him in: the natural world.
