" At its core, my work is about presence- slowing down, paying attention, and finding awe in the stillness ."
By photographing the forest at night, I illuminate not just trees or leaves-but relationships. Light becomes a tool to see the unseen choreography of nature: how roots entwine, how branches echo each other in form and rhythm.
Borrowing from theatrical lighting, I cast nature as both actor and stage in a quiet expression of deep interdependence. Each image holds a constellation of connections: fungi feeding trees, wind sculpting branches, shadows leaning into light.
These photographs are not about isolation, but unity. In darkness, light uncovers what we often miss in daylight: that no life stands alone.

"By photographing the forest at night and illuminating it with an LED flashlight, I remove the sun; the traditional narrator of daylight - and replace it with a controlled, theatrical gaze."

The Eye Within
This work is a meditation on presence and perception. By casting the forest in this unfamiliar light, I hope to offer a reimagining of the natural world_one that invites stillness, reverence and renewed attention.

"Using principles of stage lighting, I sculpt each scene with precision, never crossing the the invisible proscenium that separates viewer from subject; Instead, I wrap the landscape in light, dissolving harsh shadows to present a space where detail and depth merge without hierarchy."
